Yet again hugh puts all his eggs in one basket and doesn't have a backup.
Promise a player he will be the only X position.
And now we are left twiddling are empty hands.

And we could have been pushing for TY CHANDLER this whole damn time

On OM's side here. He has a year of learning to be a RB ahead of him, going to be incredibly difficult to be the guy in 8 months. If there is one thing you can say about Freeze it's that he would 100% have played him from day 1.

I wonder why Daddy was so pro Florida State?
Imo he had a vested interest in this even though the mom and stepdad were the primary parental figures.

And that tweet cam sent about making his mom smile again.
I take it he told her it wasn't ole miss, and then gave her Christmas present or cheered her up.

Clearly Anyone paying for recruiting websites is wasting time and money

Try and be objective here people, this kid is not going to be sitting on the bench at Fsu next year. We're talking about a top 5 player in this class who is arguably the best prospect from Mississippi in 20 years. He's going to a program that does a great job and of featuring their rb. He's also playing for a proven coach who has a national championship. We currently are waiting for penalties from the NCAA, have a coach who is obsessed with getting to meet country music singers instead of focusing on recruiting, are coming off a 5-7 season with losses to terrible miss state and vandy programs, and have yet to figure out how to run them all the 5 years since freeze has been coach. If you're this kids parents wouldn't you push him elsewhere? Unfortunately, our insiders are worthless and get people to be overly optimistic about every recruit instead of being realistic

Can't imagine doing that before, during or after tonight.

It must suck to waste so many years recruiting a fickle teenager whose decision can be swayed within a couple of months, and by a middling FSU team at that.

I don't wish him well and neither should anyone else Ole Miss-related or not FSU-related (in general). I couldn't care less about his future at FSU.

The death spiral continues....but I agree, we'll be ok at RB and on offense in general, it would of been great to land Akers but I think pennamon will develop into a decent back for us and maybe Sweeney to If his knees aren't too far gone, I'd take a 4 star linebacker over Akers any day of the week.

I don't think he's a top 5 player or the best in MS in 5 years, much less 20.

^^^ I guess what I meant was I don't wish him injury or a disastrous career. From a team perspective, I hope they implode, but then I've never cared for Florida State. Always disliked them going way, way back. Got zero to do with Akers.

I think one of the most disturbing things is that ole Miss has not been able to land any of the top talent in Mississippi this year aside from Bowie. Akers, hill, Avery, gay, Brennan, white, Rogers, Charles. We got none of them

Well we are about to find out how good he really is. If he is as good as advertised (which I think he is) we'll be seeing him play next year. If not, we'll never hear his name again just given the amount of talent that fsu has at that position. They have one more year of cook and then we will see. But good luck to him.

His decision changes basically zero for us at the running back position for next year. Hopefully we can get another good back or two down the road either instate or from somewhere. Our goal should be balance on both sides of the ball. Plain and simple. I wish he had chosen us, but given all that's going on you sure can't fault him.

Disagree. I think he plays a lot if on our roster in year 1.
