What are everyone's thoughts on Gerri Green? How talented is he? Is he a state lean?

He is considered the top player in the state by our staff. We want him as DE and State wants him as a MLB. Being from the Delta, you just automatically assume that state leads plus states recruiting guys are saying he's their's but I'm optimistic. Maybe I'm being biased but if he is Freeze's top instate target then you have to assume we will be in it until the end. My guess is its 50/50 but maybe I'm viewing it from my red and blue glasses

I think Melvin Smith had a lot to do with State in the delta. And Freeze has already pulled a commit out of a State stronghold in Hampton. That said, there's a lot of confidence coming from the State side about Green.

How can someone be confident and be a state fan at the same time? It just doesn't compute.

Melvin Smith

I wish he could hook Auburn up in the Delta. He has been completely quiet outside of Deon Mix signing with Auburn last signing period.

I haven't heard of us going after any Mississippi DBs either nor heard of him doing anything on the trail.

We hear about him though. He's here, just hasn't dug his feet in. OM and State are both doing a historically better job locking up the state. It's just going to get harder for OOS to take kids, but not in possible, and more like probable 1-2 a year

I'm working out with Trey Bledsoe right now. Kid is every inch of 6'3. He's out of shape a little and not too strong. He had an ankle injury in baseball that he's healed from. Add that and his collar bone break its not a big surprise he's not too impressive in the gym. Still not terribly weak by any means, just not ready for PJ.

Well at least he's working out. He was probably a redshirt candidate anyways

He's way bigger than I thought. Arms down to his knees. He's atleast as y'all as Prewitt and has wider shoulders and longer arms. Kid will grow into a HUGE safety

His film is impressive. We have 3 walkons that we would have been excited about if they committed back in the Nutt era. JUCO AA, top LB in the state, and a freak athlete all walking on is impressive
