JUCO DT that committed to us, then switched his commitment to Florida and ended up signing with them. Did not qualify academically, played another season as JUCO. I think he's ours to lose this time around.

I think Gennessey ends up here as well.

247 has us ranked 16th nationally, 9th in SEC.

We need to rain some 4's from here on out.

I would rather try for someone that is going to be here for more then 1 maybe 2 years. Reed is nothing but a recruiting ranking for us and may cause us to lose a highschool guy that would be here for 4-5 years.

Is Reed a December guy or May? I am not a fan of JUCO players unless they come in Dec. It normally takes a year before they catch on. Hooks still hasn't caught on. Wayne Dorsey finally caught on his senior year then got injured.

Unless its a skill player or a guy with more than two years, I'm not a big fan of JUCO guys.

It appears "The Journey" is to take one JUCO on the OL and the DL each year.

I'm all for building depth in the trenches and honestly I can't not trust Freeze after what he has accomplished in such a short time. I'm just not sure about Reed because of last year.

I typically agree with you about taking guys who will be here 4ish years, but having seen Reed play, I want him on our team... I wanted him on our team last year. He's a NFL talent and I'll take those guys on the DL everyday regardless of the amount of years they have remaining.. He's still a JUCO guy so he'll struggle at first but the talent and potential is there for him to be dominate.

I watched him and Darius Cummings play last year and I thought Reed was much better despite being a year younger. Cummings has done well on that DL in Florida. I think Reed will be good in the Red and Blue. And he's a December guy if I remember correctly.

And I'm sure it won't hurt with Pettway (who I think is ours) and Gennessey

Wouldn't mind signing a solid JUCO linebacker.

Pretty sure Reed had 4 to play 3 last year so we'd g et him with 3 to play 2.

That is what he has left, but this is his 3rd year out of hs. If he tgrisly is an nfl talent how much longer do you expect him to stay in college?. No chance he takes a rs year and I doubt we would get more then 1 year out of him if he comes in and does well.

I think the Moore kid will play LB. A LB that runs a 4.3 to 4.4 40 in our defense is more than ideal. If we can get Morgan and keep Gates, I think that LB core will be fine.

Some people don't like the 4-2-5 but I love it. Times are changing. The amount of I-formation pound it teams are decreasing. You have to be able to get guys that have the speed and quickness to make tackles in space. We are getting there.

As long as you have huskies that would make great OLB the 4-2-5 works. Alvin will play Huskie while Dickens and Gates are our OLB commits. We signed one last year in Ray Ray Smith. Many think Jamal Peters will be an OLB as well.
