We are after a lot of kids that just aren't gonna commit yet and State fans are gonna melt down if we don't get a few commits but it really won't be that big of a deal. I'm sure Dan has some ready to go already though.

Question: What was TSUN REBEL BLACK BEAR'S fundraising this year? We had our highest ever and like it or not, y'all are the closest thing I can compare to.

I saw that, but I've never seen a total fundraising number, just one for athletics so I can't help ya.

I swear I am not being a smart arse. I just don't really know if the new record number is something I should be excited about or sad because it's our record.

It's definitely something to be happy about. Anytime a record like that is set, it's something to celebrate.

The Forward Together Campaign raised $60 million in about 6 months.

I don't think that includes the entire Athletics donations though.

Their number of almost 90 mil is total givings, not just athletics and that 60 mil isn't from philanthropy, mostly CGA's. I tried to find a number but couldn't. I don't know if we release that information unless we set a record ourself but I'd have to assume just about every year we set a record in giving unless a single donor gives 50 mil one year

It would be nice to have T. Boone Pickens as a donor. Was it $150 mil that he gave the Okie State athletic department?

Our Boone Pickens is getting out of jail soon and has made 20 mil a year sitting in a cell. I hope Bjork and Jones can work with him behind the scenes

Must be nice.
I remember he caught hell from the media. People asking him questions like "Why didn't you give it to a good cause like research for a cure for cancer?"
He just responded "It's my money and I'll do what the hell I want to with it."

I'm sure they will contact him. Although I don't think he's too happy with us taking his name off the law school that he built.

Good Ole Dickie Scruggs

For a good read get "The Fall of the House of Zeus" which talks about Dickie and all of the things that happened to him through him going to jail. He has been connected his whole life from Robert Khyatt being his Jr. High football coach, to marrying Trent Lott's sister-in-law, being fraternity brothers with Hailey Barbour and Mike Moore, etc...

Very True, have you read the book?

Only thing is a lot of the old money people he was connected to are now dead or getting VERY old.

I haven't. I keep telling myself every time I go to Books-A-Million to buy it but I always end up forgetting or getting something else instead. Several of my friends have told me it's really good.

If you are originally from Mississippi you will enjoy and recognize places and people talked about in he book. I really enjoyed it and read In a couple of days.
