I didn't support the Venables hire. We could have taken (what seemed like a gamble, at the time) Lanning or a host of other quality HC candidates. But they didn't do a coaching search, only "let's get the band back together." With each passing year, it is clear Venables is not HC material. Too bad we can't have his defense with someone else making the decisions.

I supported him as hire. Remember, Riley had some great O players and it got us nowhere. He declined every year, and Bob handed him a title team. Then he not only left but gutted team on way out.

So naturally people felt good about Brent. Won a title at OU then won 2 more at Clemson. Thinking was get some avg offense and we’ll compete.

Then Lebby left to be a HC, not much you can do to stop that. And it set us back. Then Jackson Arnold flamed out along with OC Seth L. Keep in mind it was Lebby who recruited and brought Jackson Arnold in.

So Seth is fired and we eventually bring in Arbuckle. His qb tags along but gets hurt. Seemed to be good prior to injury so thinking is he’ll be good this year. And he’s not

Thing is, Arbuckle schemed some great plays vs GA. Thats a bit of hope. But his qb sucked and he shoulda tried Whitt for a few series and basic calls just to give him live reps in case we need him vs TX. But Arbuckle never tried so its one step forward and one step backwards.

Brent gets all the blame but it seemed Lebby was the key and he left so you start over.

Who hired our TE and RB coaches? Those are great hires. Was it Arbuckle, Brent or someone else?

Know what. As shitty as we’ve played at QB, the scheme was great. If we beat Tx we are 3-2 and can turn season around. As always and with every team its about qb play
