This lady on the news refuses to leave her condo and she is 2 miles away from the beach. Who in their right mind would stay that close to the beach when a category 4 hurricane is about to hit your house??? I suspect the next news on this woman won't be too good.

She is probably from another state and not a coward.

If you are up a bit in elevation and in a concrete building, you'll be fine. It depends on where you are and what the storm surge is.

Poor people don't have the means to up and leave and get into a hotel, and really don't want to sleep on the floor of an elementary school somewhere 100 miles away, then get told by the government they can't go home, you must stay here until we the government say its ok for you to go back home.

This is why you get a unit facing the inter coastal and not the ocean.
