No amount of time and energy is going to make people who aren't motivated into scholars. You can't make some people magically learn. This isn't limited to race by any means. You can put all your energy and most of your money into failing schools and unless you change what's happening at home, you're wasting resources.

Outwardly, at least here, it's about race. But I agree, those people may be too stupid to realize they're sending their kid there too avoid the poor children who just happen to be mostly black. They're extra stupid for paying private school tuition for inferior education (in my case, at least).

You must be very young. There are failing schools all over the US and I wouldn't send my kid to one. Fortunately the public schools here are very good.

I suppose if you're told it's all about race enough, you'll buy into it.

Pretty much everywhere. Sure isn't limited to race. Poor, unmotivated white folks and natives will do as poorly in school as black folks.

Used to be a teacher and saw how mainstreaming harmed kids in the middle. In every classroom you had AP, average and special ed kids. Low achievers require more time and resources and take away from those who could really use it.

You're doing yourself a disservice sending a kid to a low performing school. Thankfully they allow you to choose another school here if your neighborhood school is under performing.

Boyfriend has to next semester. It's his final semester of law school though and he has in externship with a government agency.

I doubt that's the case with this dumb arse Othello though.
