Listen up.

It is a widely debated question, and I have the answer.

A hot dog is a sandwich and here’s why.

Focus on the bun. Pretend there is no “dog” in there.

Now put sliced ham and cheese in there, with lettuce and small tomatoes.

Now tell me that’s NOT a sandwich.

That's the thing that makes it not a sandwich, the type of meat. You don't hold a sandwich with the side that's opened up, you only do that with a hot dog because they put the condiments on that part of the dog (because its not a sandwich, its a hotdog)

Pasta is just wet bread if you really think about it.

So by your logic you would call a quesadilla a sandwich?

No. Anything involving tortillas gets their own category.

I've used an apple before myself, but I'm equally as impressed with that sandwich pipe as I am grossed out.

But I still haven't seen anything that beats this fish:

Finally... a topic that I'm an expert on.

That being said, it is a sandwich.

The formula is simple. Bread, then meat, then bread. Now, pay attention to this part because this is where a lot of people lose me... turn it sideways, bam, still a sandwich. Make a ham sandwich and stand it up on its edge. Is it still a sandwich? yes. Take a hotdog, stand it up on its side. Is it still a sandwich? yes.
