All I know is that if someone told me that I could either a) marry some middle class primitive misogynist from Arkansas who bases his self worth on how long he's been married and the status quo, all while putting people who don't agree with him in derogatory groups, or b) being a dried up spinster, I would pick being a spinster.
And I always feel sorry for those peoples' wives. Call me condescending, but I think those people are terribly depressing.

Meh. My brother and his wife just bought their first house. He's a lawyer and she's a nurse. I'd say they're pretty independent and they still go on trips with my parents.
