If you're killing them then there's nothing anyone can say to be honest.. Our primary sights in the Army is an aimpoint, and we engage up to 300 yd popups with the ability to shoot "both eyes open" close quarters.
I have a 350 lb friend with a scope on his AR and he loves to tell me how much better it is for home protection.

Yeah and he probably can't shoot a decent group with his scoped AR. My .375 Winchester is an open sight 1894 action lever gun and when I pull it out at a hog hunt everyone always gives me shite until the first shot from my non magnum non hugh caliber gun rolls one of them big nasty hogs

I have thought about a break in a bunch.
I have a two story home, and the master is downstairs while my kids are upstairs. I have spoken with my wife on what I will do and what I expect her to do. I leave the bedroom, armed. She locks the door, holes up with her weapon and calls the cops.
My sole goal is to get to my kids. If I make contact, it is to be with violence of action. If by some chance I don't eliminate the contact, I disengage upstairs and guard the staircase with the kids behind me.
Best I've come up with so far. Hope to hell I don't have to do it.

I would use the minimum amount of force necessary to gain control of the situation.

eh, an AR with 55 grain Taps is a viable defense item. I'd LIKE to use my pistol to get to my AR.

to the OP and all other gun owners in this thread.. Read this book... It tells you exactly what to do when you shoot someone.

de. Maybe I should invest in a gun.
Aren't you black? If so it's going to be a little more difficult for you.

They would be met with overwhelming firepower - but it's doubtful they would get past all of my security without me knowing it ... and I would be waiting on them.

Yeah it'll hurt some feelings. I got it for my nightstand since they didn't have any 870s laying around. I don't use it as my daily carry though. It's too bulky.
