Gonna try out to be a professional horseshoe player. When I was 15, I could have turned pro but my parents wouldn't let me.

Regular sand?
Kid play sand?
Utility Sand?
Sandbox sand?
Pit sand?
River Sand?

If I can get back at a high level I once was, I won't need sand.

Mix a bunch of pepper in it so your cats won't shite in it.

Utility sand. It's heavier than the kids play sand and will stay in your pit better. All pit materials will need maintenance but utility sand is probably the easiest to maintain.

Yes, I stayed at a holiday inn express last night.

Utility sand.

It can be a bit "slippery" on the horseshoe. You will want to sprinkle it with a little water before you start throwing.
