Well....
English is the approved language for ICAO, and other entities, so everyone has to learn English. Sucks for Europe, not my problem.

Holy Crap...Look how many more Americans speak Russian than Western Europe.
Looks like we have more linguistic diversity than:
Mexico, Argentina, the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, Romania, Poland, Morroco...

It tells me that English is the only language Americans really need to know. For that reason, there is less emphasis on studying foreign languages.
Americans need to spend more time learning math. Languages are good too, but further down the list of priorities.

Here is what it really tells me. Americans are mostly surrounded by other Americans speaking English. Americans don't need to learn any other languages to increase their chances of getting laid. If they did need to, they would. If the Southeastern United States was suddenly flooded with hot chicks speaking French...guess how many high school boys would be ordering Rosetta Stone today?
