Is there an ROTC-like commitment?
Also, is the marching band comprised solely of Cadets?
Thanks...

First two years, all cadets are in ROTC courses. Upperclassmen slots are limited to commission, so only those on scholarship/selected take the upper level ROTC courses.
Yes, the marching band is cadet-only.

So are they in (or affiliated with) the military?

No commitment. After your first 2 years you indicate if you'll serve or not. If you indicate yes you continue with military education. If not, its a glorified social club from your junior year on.
And yes the band is 100% made up of cadets but they have their own rules.

A&M commissions more officers than any other school, just not the academies.
And each outfit is affiliated with a Military branch, ie Navy, Air Force, Army.

So...do most Cadets move on to military careers?
They seem to take it so seriously. I couldn't imagine getting one of those haircuts and/or behaving that way just for fun.

Did you expect serious answers with a question about the cadets?

Yes.

Goldfinger... the school was all male military (why we dont have cheerleaders) until the 60s or 70s so all the Old Ags had to be in the Corps. So you get a lot of legacies that follow in the family footsteps. We give the Corps a lot of shite on campus, but they represent us well, most of the time.
And no, most do not serve after school. 40% according to the Corps page.

I see someone else has that red arse photo handy.
My favorite Aggy reaction after seeing it? "Oh shite, that's actually real."
