ATTENTION
Everyone that lives in these two towns needs to buy silly string and apply it to their faces this weekend. Me included.
They'll sue the frick out of you. This is what those people do.

They can't catch me. They can't. I'm TOO fast bro. TOO fast. If they come near me, I'll be all like KAPOOYAH and use my extreme ninja skills. They will never see it comin. Then they be all like "BRO! WHAT WAS THAT FO?" and I be all like "LEAVE, NOW!" and they like " OK BRO, ALL BOW DOWN TO HE "
That's what will happen, it's true.

They don't want to sue you, they want to sue the school and the state.

Someone needs to unleash some skunks.

Agreed.
These dirtbags are just trying to garner media attention and easily winnable law suits to fund themselves. The best way to counter is either 1) Ignore them (although they'll still get attention) or 2) Also peaceably protest along side them, but in ways that make them uncomfortable. Hand out flyers to them about the joys of oral and/or anal sex, dance around in a party boy thong (so long as it does not violate your local laws on indecent exposure), engage them in conversations where they are forced to discuss sex or defend their views with more than one bible verse, offer all the protesters free condoms, get several of your friends to wear cut off jean shorts and "join" them demanding equal rights/promoting awareness of never-nudes, or anything else you feel would cause them to be taken less seriously.
Get creative!

You can't sue the state of Alabama FWIW. But you can the school... I'd imagine the school has a plan for them- I think they'll be downtown, not on campus.
You're only allowed to assemble in two places on campus. I could see the school blocking off the areas around those places and towing their cars (because are they really going to pay to park and then go do all that? It seems comical). I seriously doubt they'll even make it here

Come to think of it, how do these people get around?

Here is an article Mental Floss did suggesting ways to thwart the Westboro people...
Among the suggestions are dressing like zombies or angels.

They were supposed to come to Dutchtown to protest a play a few years ago but got scared away. People created their own signs and they waited at entrance to block them and all. I wonder if they actually even came into Louisiana or did they just say it on their website to get people to make some fun signs.

I was thinking about dousing them with pig's blood like Carrie to see if any of them really have telekinetic powers

Period blood would be funnier. Imagine them running around with globs that look like not quite finished raisins all over their body. That'll show them frickers.

They should include the worship of false prophets like Freezus..

This.
Y'all realize there is not proof that they actually believe in any of the shite they say. The majority of their 'church' are lawyers, and they have a couple hundred civil suits pending at any given time. Its a business, not a church. Living in Manhattan, Kansas, the wife and I took a trip to Topeka (wouldn't recommend it) and decided to drive by the WBC 'building'. It's a house, rather unremarkable aside from the large amounts of penises and other assorted graffiti. Their entire group goes out to try to bait people to assault them. They publicize their schedule in advance to try and drum up angry mobs, and only visit if the conditions/publicity is going to encourage assaults.
Then the sue those who attack them, and move on. The best, and only thing to do, is ignore them or prevent them entry to an area. They could give two shits about your 'peaceful counter protest', offensive or not. That doesn't make them any money.

I agree with peaceful counter protests but not gay friendly ones. The whole idea is to try to make them uncomfortable by weighing on their conscience. They've proven they have no regard for gay people and trying to shame or embarrass them isn't going to work. You fight fire with fire instead. Call them out as the false prophets that they they appear to be and point out to them what the Bible says about them and how you will know "them" (false prophets) by their fruits. I'd love to see their reactions when some one calls them out using their own tactics. It would be interesting to see/ hear their reactions to someone confronting them on this.
