There is nothing fancy or slick about WM. Their home office is so low key. Pretty damn conservative looking for the Fortune (1) company.

It's hilarious how much Arky fans defend Walmarks.

Not everyone likes Walmarks. Not everyone likes the type of people that Walmarks draws. It's that simple. You're not changing the minds of anyone.

Link to me saying everyone likes Walmart?

All I did was comment on how non-flashy corporate Walmart is:

I guess Wal*Mart will just have to settle with having the #1 Fortune 500 company in the world.

This is a good observation. Probably best not to start any negative Golden Corral threads in their presence either. Especially sore spot with Bert at the helm.

So much ignorance and Eliteism in this thread towards sonething great.

Walmart is a great company that brings economic development to their community, provides low prices across the board that benefit everybody especially the poor, provides employment to a significant majority of the population, and improves the lives of everybody involved with a Walmart affair starting with feeding millions of people and then giving them access to other extra amenities that would be a tad more difficult to obtain and in short supply in stores that are smaller.

I'm not a fan of big box stores across the board. But Walmart is easily the worst of the bunch. And they have a tendency to attract some of the worst trash in the area because of their price points and product quality. I'll pay a little more at somewhere like Target if need be to avoid dealing with that.

But FWIW I buy majority of my produce at either our local farmer's market or some of the smaller stores that carry local products. Or I just grow it myself in the summer. If I can't manage that I'm shopping at Kroger.

This is the arrogance and Eliteism I'm talking about, even if I can sympathize with it.

That would be called capitalism which gave you residence in the most powerful and greatest country on Earth. Business models change and you either adapt or die.

Yes if you prefer to buy your produce at the farmers market you live in a bubble, hate poor people, and don't understand economics.

Can't you see that?

Can't you?

I don't go there but once a month or so, but they fill a huge need, which is why the Waltons are rich. If Mom n Pop stores were economically viable, Walmart would never have taken off.

Walmart relies on government aid in two huge ways -- Millions of shoppers are using aug when paying for their goods and employees are heavily reliant on public assistance.

Walmart is corporate fascism. At least their office is low key and conservative.
