Used elucidate the other day, use garner all the time and never heard of dearth. Thought it was like that whole "phteven" deal.

But it's a great word, thank you.

Here's mine: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Not really, but it was the longest "word" I could think of. Spending too much time with the kids these days, I suppose .

I actually like the word systemic. Probably bc I'm a nurse.

ETA: Pavoloco83 beat me to it.

There are a lot of fun words in the medical field -- as well as the judicial field that should be used more often in day-to-day conversations.

I like the initials we use for certain conditions even more...

DFO= Done fell out (fainted)

FOS= Full of shite (constipated)

Just 2 of my favorites.

You should see the acronyms in the military.

"Done fell out.", gonna have to use that at some point.

A word that should find favor here and would be much cooler to use than the more basic terms in use here.

Histrionic. The type of broad I've hooked up with more times than I'd care to admit.

Haha.......sir.

I personally like most of the cognitive biases -- one of them being Apophenia.

"Apophenia /æp?'fi?ni?/ is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data."

I've used this one very recently.

Recalcitrant

adjective : having an obstinately uncooperative attitude toward authority or discipline

noun:a person with an obstinately uncooperative attitude.

This is often used in medical literature to describe infections that are resistant or otherwise difficult to treat- and i like it.

Catch 22

There was only one catch and that was Catch-22, which specified that a concern for one's safety in the face of dangers that were real and immediate was the process of a rational mind.

"Orr was crazy and could be grounded. All he had to do was ask; and as soon as he did, he would no longer be crazy and would have to fly more missions. Orr would be crazy to fly more missions and sane if he didn't, but if he were sane he had to fly them. If he flew them he was crazy and didn't have to; but if he didn't want to he was sane and had to."

Yossarian was moved very deeply by the absolute simplicity of this clause of Catch-22 and let out a respectful whistle.
