A couple sticks of dynamite that explode when the box is opened would stop this thievery cold. It seems wrong that the law protects these scumbags from their victims.

It seems wrong for not blowing a guy up for stealing a package? 
These people have to have some sort of shame. I mean walking up on someone’s front porch and taking what are likely Christmas presents? The joy/money I got from the package wouldn’t be worth the low self worth for me

I would go with some kind of stain creating powder or liquid that can't be washed off, at least ruin their clothes/car/home. And perhaps a spray that doesn't go away easily.
