The Dalai Lama's Impressive Salary

Conspiracy: The Dalai Lama is a CIA agent.
The truth: Perhaps the reason the Dalai Lama is smiling in all those photos has something to do with the six-figure salary he pulled down from the U.S. government during the 1960s.
According to declassified intelligence documents, he earned $180,000 in connection with the CIA's funding of the Tibetan Resistance to the tune of $1.7 million per year.
The idea was to disrupt and hamper China's infrastructure.
The Dalai Lama is believed to have the power to choose the body into which he is reincarnated, meaning that the current Dalai Lama is a reincarnation of the last. Today millions of people – across all religions – believe in reincarnation.

And when the Dalai Lama dies they will send out people to search the world for the new one. They take items the Lama was fond of in his past life to test the candidate. If the candidate shows favor to those trinkets, he may be the new Lama.
The Lama leaves clues to where he will reincarnate during his life. So the monks have to go over his writings to figure out where to send out the wise men to look for him and they use the stars in the sky to guide themselves. Or well,they used to.
And now we know the truth of the 3 wise men visiting the baby Jesus. Jesus was a candidate to be the new Dalai Lama.
Also, the Dalai Lama, to this day, makes policy decisions based on consultations with an Oracle.

That's not going to happen.
The Panchen Lama (the person tasked with finding the next Dalai Lama) has been kidnapped by the Chinese Government and hasn't been seen since he was a kid. Once the current Dalai Lama dies, there is no one left to find the new Dalai Lama.
The Chinese government has effectively "check mate"'d Buddhism.
