You know the types. Some folks can't be on time for work or a meeting to save their life. Other folks arrive fifteen minutes early everywhere they go. My wife waits till the very last minute to do anything so she struggles to be anywhere on time and that includes getting my kids to school.

I am the opposite and lots of folks are irritated by my type. I have only been late to work once in the last eight years and that was because my transmission locked up on the way in one morning. I usually arrive at least fifteen minutes early and also usually the last to leave. I am ocd about being to any appointments on time or early. You should wake up with time to spare or get ready to leave in time to compensate for an issue that may arise.

Which one are you?

15 min is too early

5 min is too late

The geek in me wants to get somewhere right on time, so plus or m minus a min or so.

On a side note, as the old guy.

Sometime if you get to the Dr.s office 1/2 early they see you then, so less waiting.

Sporting events, I like to miss the intro's and arrive right around the first play. It helps to have a parking space in place but I really like avoiding traffic.

If you are right on time, you're late.

I grew up on a farm. I'd say I'm relatively punctual.

When I'm by myself I'm 15 minutes early, when I'm with my wife I'm 15 minutes late.

Depends what it is.

Big event I have an active role in? 1h-30m early to a staging area to prep and then “arrive” 10m early on the dot.

Normal workday? 15m

Medical or legal appointment? 10m

Anything with just close friends? 5m or right on time

Other social function? 30m late

I'm always early, unless the SO is tagging along. Then I'm always late. I can't stand being late.

Everyone always says this to me, but every time, I’m only just sitting in the waiting room that much longer. As a matter of fact, I’ve seen patients arrive while waiting and get called back more often than not.

With that said, there have been several times I’ve had a doctor or dentist office call my phone and tell me that a patient canceled and that I can come early if I liked. Those times are usually a Friday when they want off early or something like that.

Always at least 15 minutes early. It's like a compulsion for me to be early for everything. My mother was a workaholic who was always late picking us up from after school care or sporting events and as a kid it was infuriating, I suppose my obsession with time came from that.

I think we had the same Mom. She was always early to work, and always late to anything I had going on. Caused some real trust issues.

I've never been married (engaged twice) but truer words were never spoken.

The women in my life run to two extremes. My mother and the crazed park ranger girl I dated were terrified we would be late and showed up an hour early. The rest of my girlfriends would be late to their own funerals.

Absolutely. Don't get me wrong, I love my mom and I'm grateful that she busted her arse at work to make sure we never went hungry and for the work ethic she instilled in me, but damnit I hated being the last kid to be picked up from day care every day.

On the flip side, all those extra hours at the Boys and Girls Club made me an exceptional ping pong player.

I loved my Mom too and am thankful for her providing me with everything I needed...but the single Mom, professional busting her arse to make things work is less than ideal.

I'm always 5 minutes early or right on time.

I've never met a Millennial who can be at a lunch meeting at the appointed time. It's maddening to me.
