Settle A Math Problem Debate
It is a horse problem.
So is it a horse problem or a math problem? Need to know before I solve it.

Buy it back for ten dollars more so lost initial profit

If I sold a $60 horse for $70 why the crap would I want to buy it back for $80?
Unless I knew someone stupid enough to give me $90?
The gas getting that nag back and forth would make this a losing proposition...I'd pass..
but the answer is $20..

He started with $60 & no horse.
He finished with $90 & no horse.
After paying himself back the extra $10 for the $80 transaction, he will have made an extra $20

That's gross profit not net profit.

Any time you can get rid of a useless creature like a horse you're already up big.

Rantards are a bunch of dumbasses. The guy made $10. You do the math in the sequence of transaction. +10-10+10=10. Damn??

-60+70-80+90=20. Damn??

Sit down and do the transaction with pennies and you’ll see it’s 20.
Or imagine the second series of transactions involves a cow instead of involving the same horse. You’ll see its 20.

(70 - 60) + (90 - 80)
It’s 2 transactions.
It’s 2 transactions.

Is that Mississippi State Math?
OK...here is how the math works out...
The easiest way to envision this would be for him to start with $100.
$100-60+70-80+90 = $120
$100-60 = $40
$40+70 = $110
$110-80 = $30
$30+90 = $120
It's simple Horse Economics 101, and it is the math that drives the sale of Horse Commodities on the Equine Stock Exchange.

The man broke even because he bought a horse... there are no nouns naming the person/entity that entered into the other transactions... could have been the same man. He could have shorted the horse against the box in which case he owns 2 horses and owes the market 2 horses in which case he hasn't realized a profit or a loss and still has multiple open positions.

He bought and sold the horse on the internet and never took possession or had boarding fees. + $20

Rebuys the horse for $80.
Sells the horse for $90.
If he is a pinhooker, once he sells the first time he is off to buy another horse
Is this man from Arkansas and is he engaging in sexual congress with the horse?

That is the issue with the math. It is not a different horse. It is the same horse with each transaction. If a guy buys a horse for 60 sells it for 70, he makes 10. If he turns around and spends 80 for the same horse he just sold for 70, he loses 10. If he sells the same horse for 90 that he paid 80 for he makes 10. It is not 2 separate transactions since he is buying the same animal twice.
ETA: I did the math starting with 100 and it is 20. My apologies to the tards I called dumbasses.
ETAA: Y’all are still a bunch of dumbasses.
