Question: Why do people and media not get just as upset by the fact that Chris Rock has a show called "I hate White People"?

Or about gangster rap?

The rules are hard to understand. Ironically enough the whole thing is based on racism and stereotyping. This is ironic because the system was formed to end racism and stereotyping. I have been studying it for years and have thus far grasped only a menial understanding. It seems to go something like this:

The more you look like your ancestors may have accomplished something the less you are covered under the "hate" umbrella. The more you look like your ancestors may have lost to mosquitoes, economics, and/or The Pope the more you are covered under the hate umbrella. If you're a Jew then your ancestors almost certainly accomplished an untold shitload of money, yet you are nonetheless QUITE covered under the hate umbrella.

Have I cleared it up for ya?

In all honestly, OU is pretty racist.

I remember taking a tour of OU my senior year of high school and thinking "where the frick are all the black people?"

Also my brother attended OU for a year before he went back home. Said things were pretty messed up in Norman.

I've never been on that campus so it may have a terrible race relations situation, but it shouldn't be surprising that you didn't see many black people. The state of Oklahoma is only 7% black.

I was actually born in Oklahoma City, and lived there until 2000.

We lived in an ok neighbourhood, and there was a good mixture of the races. Same at my local elementary school.

They're actually a good bit of black people who live in OKC and Tulsa, and in small towns across the state. In fact Oklahoma was supposed to be an all-black state before it was settled. I guess they figured they'd put all the black and Native Americans in the same area. There are still a few all- black towns in OK too, but black people still are the minority in Ok.

Damn, we were there close to the same time

One of my little brothers was born in OKC in 1997.

And no joke, the first racist encounter I ever had was on a playground in Enid, OK, when I was told to my face by a white boy around 6 years old that he "didn't play with black kids."

It's an interesting area of the country for race relations that a lot of folks don't usually think of, tbh.

I hate OK, but Tulsa is a super nice town. One of my favorites. Crazy to think this happened there

Tulsa is exactly the halfway point driving from Altus, OK, to Warrensburg, MO. Used to stop there all the time driving back and forth to visit Aggiebelle when we were at different bases.

Good shopping/eats there.

They fricked up hard

I'm not sure I've ever seen a house get fricked harder, especially so quickly. Imagine if you were a senior, out of town that weekend for a funeral or something, and this shite happens?

Man would my butt be hurt

Tulsa is the only good part of OK. We'd stop there on our way to see the wife's brother in Enid. Good food and some decent areas to shop. White Flag has awesome burgers.

I wonder how long it will be until the video's lead singer gets outed. That's what needs to happen. He's the racist in all of this.

Yup. Place was awful.

Middle of nowhere and the wind was hot. Just a stupid area.

OKC can get fricked though. Place was overrated.

"The N word" still hurts people and should never be used.

These kids, and I'd imagine a whole shite load of kids today, are so desensitized to the N-word because of rap and hip hop. Good luck trying to erase that word from society.

I haven't seen it but yea I agree that we probably won't find out. It's fricked up because now the connection that people form is that OU or SAE = racist when in reality it was just a few fricktards who get to skate out of this with their names clean.

Yeah they tend to plop USAF bases down in stupid places like that

And believe it or not, Vance was still WAY better than Altus

My favorite part of going there was when some of the locals took me to their "riverwalk" and tried to tell me it was better than "the one in Texas" (not realizing I was from SA).

I pitied 'em too much to burst their bubble about their raggedy, ramshackle little knockoff

Oh, and frick the Thunder (sorry Carolina Tide! )
