I started listening to them a few months ago. Haven't listened to anything past 2008, don't want to ruin it.
I mostly alternate between Decoration Day and The Dirty South
Also, how the hell did Goddamn Lonely Love not make their Greatest Hits Album?

"Z'ers" listen to mumble rappers and Billie Eilish.
Me listening to a 2006 folk album is hardly representative of my generation

I didn’t even know they had a greatest hits album. I stopped listening to most new stuff after 2008. I’d venture since GDLL is an Isbell song and Hood chose the tracks, that one got left off.
You should explore Southern Rock Opera more.
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats-You Worry Me

By the way, Josh Ritter is considered Rock as much as folk. Each of his albums are unique and themed.
Folk/Mostly Acoustic
Hello Starling (2003)
Golden Age of Radio (2001)
The Animal Years (2006)
So Runs The World Away (2010)
The Beast in It's Tracks (2013)
Rock/Mostly Electric
The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter (2007)
Sermon on the Rocks (2015)
Gathering (2017)
Fever Breaks (2019)
DSJ, you might like Fever Breaks. It was produced by Jason Isbell. Here's the 2nd track, Old Black Magic
