Southeastern is good. But I haven’t listened in a while. It helped me through my post-divorce blues. I had a lot of driving to do during that time period and Isbell was in heavy rotation.

The guys I was with at both places all kind of looked at each other like, “did he really just say that?”

Album. I think you said it was ok. Maybe it was another
Best songs IMO:
Cover Me Up (Bro-Country star Morgan Wallen did a cover of it and it reached #1 on country charts)
I told you about his addiction problems. This is his song about it.
Flying Over Water
My person favorite:
Relatively Easy (This song really made me appreciate life)

Meh. Hood is an a-hole but Sturgill is just weird. He thinks all politicians are shitbags.
He literally said, "Donald Trump is a fricking fascist, but Hillary Clinton is just as bad. I hate all them motherfrickers. I don't give a shite about parties. frick em all."
He actually said that
He's addled his brains already, dude has taken more hallucinogenic shite in his 40 years than most.

Ah ok, think I meant to listen to this one but got sidetracked and then forgot to come back and listen.
All of those sound decent enough. Little sad, but not bad. Have heard much worse from country music radio

Sturgill: Something along the lines of that he couldn’t wait to get out of here and get to New York City where he ought to be playing.
Hood: the crowd was thin because the promoters did a shite job and there were a bunch of guys like me that new their older stuff by heart. Most all of what DBT played was stuff off of the last couple albums so we all just kind of stood there. Some folks yelled songs for them to play. Finally Hood started saying he thought they’d have a better crowd-implying folks who liked their new stuff-and that we basically needed to like the new stuff because that was most of what they’d be playing.
I like newer DBT songs here and there, but their albums used to be whole packages and good cover to cover. It’s not like that anymore.

They sound like people who got too big headed because they had some success.
Mellencamp despite getting political about stuff has said essentially, what he does is a job and its his job to give the best performance for his fans. Should be the attitude of all musicians.

This is hilarious whether you like his music or not:
After Josh Ritter released “Gettin Ready to Get Down” (by far his most popular song) in 2015, a 50 year old dude in cargo shorts sent him a video of him dancing to it in his living room.
Josh Ritter was planning to do a music video with it, but he decided to make the dude dancing in his living room the “Official Video”
It’s well worth the watch

I’ve always loved Cooley’s voice. Was never quite the lyricist Hood and Isbell were, but he definitely has a vintage southern rock sound.
