Reading Beaver's thread over on the other OT about a new discovery of planets ( Linky to thread) and reading Stacked's thread on the visit to the arse doctor ( Other Linky) I felt as if this topic should be discussed.

Do they exist?
Was Roswell a Coverup?
Are people of power still in contact with them?
Have you been abducted?
Have you been anal probed by an alien?
Aliens and Pyramids of Giza, any connection?

So many questions to ask so I figured I'd ask it here.

Also, Here are some funny meme pics of the aliens guy

a friend of mine met alien guy for lunch cause alien guy was putting on a 12/12/2012 party and my friend has a production company thing going. Alien guy starts talking about the acid he had eaten the night before and asking my friend for coke, my friend had never be the man before. He said he thought alien guy believed all the bullshift he was talking about at one point but is now in it for whatever money he can get out of it.

seems to me like the alien guy was just a poser.

Personally I think there is absolutely no way that we are alone in the universe, I mean its statistically Impossible.

I don't know, I would say it is a tossup IMO.

We would need to define what would be considered "other intelligent life" but I am not sold on the fact that we couldn't be alone at this moment in time.

Maybe, maybe not. I doubt in the sense of intelligent life.

No. Humans were intelligent millennia ago.

I used to doubt in intelligent life to but that would be making the assumption that we are the First life to develop and/or the fastest evolving.. Who's to say there isnt a planet out there somewhere that has sustained life for an extra billion years or so. I would THINK they could be far more advanced than us

Unless you're a hardcore Christian who believes the Earth was created a few thousand years ago, I really don't get how you can't believe in intelligent life on other planets somewhere in the universe. It reeks of human narcissism to me.

According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe. Odds are ET life exists. But unless there is a way to break the speed of light we'll never get to find out.

One requires as much faith as the other, wouldn't you say? There is and has been absolutely no indictations or proof that alien life exists beyond this planet. To believe so, would take an act of faith, would it not? And to believe that the advancements of man in the last 100 yrs, has given us the ability to understand and know to great certainties about the Universe, would imo, be a larger case of narcissism, than to believe a Diety created us.

Your point is valid.

I will say that it's at least faith-based in something tangible like mathematical probability. If I flip a coin 100 trillion times it's not guaranteed to land on heads once but we all know it will. I realize that's not the best analogy considering it's a much lower chance than 50/50 of a planet containing intelligent life.

Haha not doubting this in the least. Hopefully they look at us like our big brother and don't kill us off to get our resources.

I've always found it funny that people seem to think that if we ever were invaded we would fight them off or at least stand a punchers chance.

If a species has the technology for interstellar space travel then we aren't fighting shite.

OK any Christian (and I'm a hardcore Christian) that says the earth in only 6,000 yrs old doesn't understand the Bible. IF you look solely at the timeline between Genesis 1.2 until now an argument can be made that the earth is approx. 6,000 yrs old HOWEVER there's a time gap between Genesis 1.1 & 1.2 so NO ONE knows for sure how old the earth is from a religious point of view.

Bacteria/viruses are nothing close to intelligent life.

I can accept that.

Fwiw, alien life has no bearing on Christianity imo. No mention was made, for or against in the Bible. God made us, animals, angels and demons. I don't see why he couldn't make any other life forms. If He did, there's no reason to think we should have been made to know his purposes if it were so.
