Think they have a couple guys sitting out today nursing injuries too. Granted, they were already guaranteed to move on, but one was a groin (which can be pesky and susceptible to pulling again at any time) and the other I think was a knee. If this game had more riding on it, they very well might have played.

Thats the dumbest thing in the world. I'm as American and patriotic as it gets and I dont have the first ounce of faith in anything to do with this country, but thats a political debate and I hate those.

glad we got the win, but we looked bad. I don't think Germany played their A game either but still should have put a couple more in the net.
Through the group though time to refocus and recharge a bit. Totally different mindset now and will be fun to see how we react.

hell yes, we are golden - that is the worst possible day for Belgium to have to play a game.

USA vs Greece in the semis
Betting on that right when the bracket was set would've paid out bigtime... Probably 200/1... I want a USA vs Netherlands semifinal but if I was to put $ on it I'd bet on Argentina/Netherlands.. Holland will beat their arse too... The Argentine back line is bad... Really bad.

We need Altidore.
Dempsey has done great, but he's no target man. I agree with a few others I've seen that a big part of Bradley's problem is not having a targetman to relieve the pressure. Get Altidore to hold up play, dump it back and let guys like Bradley and Jones collect the pass and force it up to others making runs.
Without a guy who can hold up play, we're stuck in a 4-6-0. It's been good enough to survive but we don't get much farther without a proper forward. It's too bad, because there's a lot to like about this team and a good run could be in the cards at full strength.

Frankly, I like our chances at having a potential dream team if Alitdore returns. There is no way in hell we advance with Dempsey (as great as he's been) doing everything alone.
At least now we'll go for the gusto and not just play defense the entire time. I really want to see the moxy from our team. Our stamina is unbelievable, if Germany had to go to OT with us I don't think they would have been able to hold up.
