what people am i being grouped with then? general rantOT?

it is just a dumb cheer that doesn't sound good or make sense and is a discredit to america. It is ok if you don't mind something being substandard associated with this great nation, I like to hold the red white and blue to a higher standard.

the cheer is terrible, i would think an A&M fan would be able to tell the difference.

And I don't have to enjoy our stupid cheer to support america in the WC.

fricked that up - meant I Am A Real American on repeat works much much better IMO

This has nothing to do with anything.

What we've learned so far, Groups E and F:

It's good to be Argentina and France because they both got jokes of a group.

Today's matchups:

Portugal v Ghana - Should be a wide open affair with both needing a win to have a shot at advancement. Given that both like to counter, expect them both to go up and down the pitch. Ghana's backline isn't great and Portugal leave a lot of space on the edges for Ghana to run. I think tired legs get the better of Portugal and Ghana wins in fairly comfortable fashion.

USA v Germany: I expect neither to really press much given both know a draw is enough. Germany are one of the best in the world but aren't unbeatable. We have a chance to take advantage of our pace against a slower German backline if we find ourselves behind. I expect a lot of kicking it around the midfield and the game ending up tied in a boring affair. Boring is good. USA.

Belgium is already through but can win the group with any result vs Korea.

Algeria and Russia is a defacto second place game. A draw will be enough to see Algeria through on GD and they have looked quietly to be the most underrated side in the field. Expect Algeria to dispose of the Russians and become the second African nation into the Round of 16. If there's a third, Ghana should get bombed back to the stone age. Good news is, it would take two bombers and two minutes of dropping bombs to accomplish such a goal.

Now USA! USA!

That means we're due for that result.

Right, Germany?

RIGHT?!
