You know what propelled St Mary's was not Mills it was Samhan.
Mills got free due to him being able to go inside out. Did you ever really watch St Mary's?
As for the Olympics, that game is built for guards to score, but when he had game winning or game turning situations he would turn the ball over.
Again, I just dont think he is a big time player in pressure situations. If I am proved wrong good. But if he falters and starts playing scared dont be surprised.

Samhan is a former college basketball player for the St. Mary's Gaels.[2] He played center for the team, and, after scoring 61 points in two NCAA tournament victories,[2] including 32 points in a win over Villanova,[3] he had been called the "dominant player/personality" of the opening rounds of the 2010 tournament.[4] Samhan was named to the 2010 All-American list as an Honorable mention as a result for his efforts in the regular season and the tournament.

Damn you think I did not know that? You knew who that was taking a shot at.
I just can not believe that the Lakers have allowed LAC to start taking some of their "swag" and "celebrity" taken from them.
IIRC, the Sports Arena was told by the Clips that they were not going to pay rent there anymore and the Galen Center was just being built. That place is empty. The Sports Arena could have, and probably should have caved into the Clips. But the city owns it and wouldn't.

Angels are never considered a true LA team. But the Clips have taken the momentum and if done right, wont let it go. Sterling for as dumb as he is turned profit in LA for many years that the Lakers did not.

What are you
at? If the Clips are smart they will tap into a new generation and get a following. I love the arrogance of people who think that traditional franchises are followed just because. You realize the Bulls were bigger than the Lakers at one time don't you?

Hang on I want to engage in this but have to deal with a kid that just threw a desk because he was told he failed a test.
Give me about 35 to 45 minutes.

Okay back.
The Laker fandom is like any other fandom in the NBA. You will have the core group and the historic group. But the NBA will always be bandwagon marketing and will always tear into a group, no matter what city they are in.
There are kids in LA, NY, Chicago, Boston that are Clips fans because the major teams are horrible. Once Kia and State Farm started using Clippers, the more people began to recognize them and start following them, dropping from their "original" team.
As for the kid, he just got sent home with a 3 day vacation and then has 5 day ISS when he returns. I am sure his daddy is proud of him.

I agree that those type of fans exist, but the lakers still run the city of LA when it comes to attention and exposure. its no longer nearly as one sided, the clippers did not even have their own radio station a couple years ago IIRC, but the main NBA story in the city is not "the clippers have a very good team and could very likely win the championship this year" its "what are the lakers going to do? how are they going to rebuild? will dantoni still be coaching next year? who are they going to draft? etc" its no longer nearly as one sided as it was back in 2010, but the bulk of the attention still goes to the lakers and it will take years, and I mean YEARS, for the clippers to even begin to challenge that

They moved from Vancouver, you can not forget that.
Why does this have any bearing on them remaining in the Western Conference? Charlotte was an Eastern Conference team before moving to New Orleans.

I guess it is the fact when he was at St Mary's and in the Olympics he did not ever play big when he was needed.
The Baker's Man was the leading scorer in the Olympics, iirc.
