Going next week with the wife. Where should we eat, drink, and see?

How in the hell has anyone never been to New Orleans if you live in the south. Get beignets while drunk around midnight. Wont disappoint

Don’t just stay on Bourbon. Avoid the French Quarter after dark is my advice. Uptown bars on Magazine are much better.

Cafe du monde has a sibling discount

Eat at Katie’s in Midtown. Neighborhood restaurant that is my absolute favorite in the city. Can wear flip-flops and a T-shirt or a suit. Get the seafood beignets or crab and Bree flatbread. A great local place to eat!

Bourbon is fun during the day. More wild at night. Check the piano bar at Pat O'Briens and get a hurricane.
Also, Jazzfest is this weekend and next.

Just smear each other in dirt and look at a picture of a nutria and you've had the experience.
To replicate June - September just repeat steps one and two in a sauna

Just don't pass out drunk at Krystal with a 2011* Alabama shirt.

Lol
Pretty sure you could add May and October though.

I was there pre Katrina. Leaving the hotel was like stepping into a hot shower. I thought it was humid here, but holy shite. Still had a good trip but I have no idea how people adapt to that.
Serious answer the typical tourist stuff is good. Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. We did brunch at court of two sisters and it was excellent. Did a swamp tour which was disappointing but I did get to see a baby Gator eat marshmallows.

I’ve been a handful of times and can honestly say I don’t plan to go back for a good amount of time.

Can’t handle being in a big city after dark?

I mean being out at 3-4 in the morning is a bit different than 9-12 or so. We take a family trip to NO every year. Stay on bourbon with a balcony. I bring my young kids and all. Even at night...

I just realized I haven't been to New Orleans since right after Hurricane Katrina when I went down a few times to help deliver supplies.
I've been to other places in Louisiana since then, I've been to the Mississippi Gulf Coast several times, and I've even visited Houston but I haven't stopped by New Orleans itself.
