We are coming off a world wide pandemic where gas companies drastically slashed their production... now things are revving back up and we are... surprised the price of oil is on the rise?
I hate to tell folks this but no matter what politician you slavishly follow this was going to happen. It will even out but yes, we are going to take it in the shorts on a variety of things. Gas. Food. Electronics. This is the inevitable fall out.

In the midst of a global pandemic, the average gas price (monthly) dropped to $1.84 (April 2020) under Trump, but reached $1.76 under Obama (Feb 2016). So, I'm sure you are longing for the Obama days of even lower gas prices...right?

Is this a question? Would I prefer $1.76/gallon gas to $3.17/gallon. Yeah, actually I would.

So during the pandemic national average price bottomed out at around 1.74. The problem is the next 9 months of trump they went up almost 38% from that number. A couple weeks ago was Biden's 9 month mark, prices were up almost 40% from inauguration. Both of those are pretty shitty figures.

Yep. A lot of resource based industries (logging for example) cut way back on production during the pandemic. They still haven't gotten back to normal with gas production and OPEC is cheerfully making money hand over fist without having to sell more barrels.
With people in the US, and around the world, out and doing things now that the pandemic seems to finally be wheezing itself out (except in the UK where its still riding tall in the saddle) the demand for gas is shooting up while the supply is still fairly limited. Its going to take a while to balance things out.
We could have Dwight Eisenhower, Bill Clinton, and Teddy Roosevelt running the country and the price of gas would still be going up. Once in a hundred years pandemics tend to be bad things.

You really believe that crap Madcow and Lemon parrot for the DNC? If you don’t think that the first day of this administration had anything to do with where gas prices are then you are denying a village of their idiot!

How can anyone argue with such a grasp of facts? I yield to your babbling sir. No, no, say no more. Please. I mean saying Madcow alone won your argument.
