Today I was offered a job but they want an answer within 24hrs.
If I accept, they also want me to start Monday.
Work in the medical field.
Sigh!
I do like that I know the responsibilities of the job and worked under there before but on a clinical basis.
Great hours, unlike the hospital.

Are you wanting feedback on whether to take it or not?
Or are you just stating fact?
If feedback wanted not enough info for me, other than is the 2 week notice no longer the correct way to leave your current job?

A lot of places consider a two week notice gounds for termination since you will no longer be as commited to do your job.

feedback.
Well they had a resume of mine on file but I dont check my email often. Then the number on the resume was changed after my break up. She stated she was trying to reach me for a week.

So what's this thread about? Are you just filling us in? If so, congrats.

Well that is their option but you took the high road can't make them do the same. In fact if they thought that way I would move along

feedback.
I did something like this with a large corporation. Had a good position, left for another company for good position and later decided to return to the original company for another good position.
I did not burn any bridges on the way out either way and I knew what I was getting into clearly when I went back, worked well for me.
Depends on the personalities you will be dealing with as well since it is a different location, section or position than you had before.

I left both places with a month's notice. If they really want YOU, they wait, if they need to fill the slot, they don't.
Obviously you do not give your notice till all is worked out IN WRITING with the new old place.

I'm assuming you have more info. The short notice would probably be a little daunting to me though unless the job was clearly a better situation across the board.

A little bit off topic but I just got the weirdest thought in my head of you being in a hospital with someone's life on the line and instead of doing your job, you're trolling LSU on the Rant
Based on all you said, it seems like a great opportunity. It might be a bit sudden, but some of those kinds of things are the best to take.

At the company I work for if you dont give at least one week's notice, dont bother ever asking to come back--you will definitely leave on bad terms no matter your track record with the company.

Is it a better job? More money?

If you leave your job are you going to bitch and moan about how you miss it even though it was a total bitch?

Doing the same thing. Salary is a little more but the hours are great compared to my current position

Sounds like they've got a few people picked out for the position and are giving you first refusal. They will fill the position on Monday, with or without you. Personally, I'd have to really hate the job I have to even consider the new one.

Out of curiosity, if you take the job and start Monday, what happens to people you work with on the same and lower level, in other words who picks up the slack when you leave on Monday and how does that work exactly, ie. they work more or longer or more frequent shifts till your position is replaced?
Could be a lot of bridges burnt there for sure
