P.S. I also have to include the book "Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark". I know that's not a movie but the stories and especially the creepy artwork in that book deserve special mention.
The illustrator 's name is Steven Gammell... Talk about a guy that knew how to make some creepy drawings... I bet you had nightmares about that picture of "The Thing " in the first book.. Every little kid did.

Those fricking eyes in that drawing...Gettin chills thinking about them.

Movie called "Black Roses", old school 80's horror where this band turned into monsters

80s movie called "Dreamscape" with Dennis Quaid, Max Von Sydow and this...
I also vaguely remember a movie (not sure if TV or VCR) where this house was inundated with spitting cobras. No clue what the title was, but these two shaped my later aversion to snakes on general principle.

Full Metal Jacket. I was 7ish and my dad kept flipping back and forth between a basketball game and the movie. He flips back to Full Metal Jacket and it's the instant that the fat bald guy shoots himself in the head.

Where the wild things are
Original Psycho - saw it when I was still in single digits. My older brother forced me to watch it.

Don't know if it 'traumatized' me or not, but those damn flying monkeys on The Wizard of Oz kept me with one eye on the sky for several days after watching it when I was little.

It was this really strange Canadian movie made for kids. About magic paint brushes that used hair grown from peanut butter put on kids scalps. And there was this guy kidnapping all the kids for their hair.
I was terrified about getting kidnapped after watching it.
I imagine it would be hilarious to watch this now.
