it's all filmed on Lake Allatoona in Georgia.

A lot of it is filmed on Lanier and around the 85 corridor.

The cartel property is Chateau Elan

For the area of Georgia they are filming, yes.

Got it

For Missouri, I have no idea. Probably not.

So then this isn’t good. Since she is someone from Missouri in the show, not from Georgia

I was responding to dude says he lives there and her accent isn't anything like the people who live there. He wrong.

I know some country folks, and her accent is way over the top to me. Now for a trailer park girl, her accent is spot on probably but I don't associate too much with trailer park folks, so you probably have a better idea on that than I do. I was born in Rome, Ga to answer your other question. I've lived in my current house for 14 years, and there are definitely some rednecks around here, but I just find her over the top. Just me. It's ok if someone disagrees with you, ya know! Still a great show.

I think the show depicts that "lake culture" in the Ozarks pretty well, as there are absolute palaces in some areas, and trailers and cabins in others.

Yep. Busch IV that lost Anhueser-Busch used to fly talent in from Florida to party with him on the weekends there (allegedly). Then you have run down mobile home parks and everything in between.

No flames here but this accent sounds normal to you?

That’s Baltimore
I said the DMV area (NOVA-Southern MD)
Which some people wouldn’t group with the the DMV (Baltimore)

Ohio is certainly not normal

This is pretty neat for me as I watch the series and was unaware of the filming locations. There are cliffs across for JD's (The Blue Cat) I used to jump off as a kid. One of my best friends grew up in Flowery Branch which is where the Byrde home is located. And to top it off, my wife's uncle lives in Chateau Elan where the drug lord's house is located. Crazy stuff!

The show seems to paint south-central Missouri as "too Southern" most of the time, in my opinion. I realize some of this is due to it being mostly filmed in Georgia (which is a mistake, because there aren't that many pine trees or red dirt in the Ozarks).

What do you think about the show's cultural accuracy?

They're definitely leaning to the extreme "Southern" edge of any Lake of the Ozark culture. It's not completely unrealistic, but definitely exaggerated. I think that's partially out of necessity to put Marty in a "fish out of water" scenario.

A few examples of characters I think could reasonably be from the Lake of the Ozarks are the Langmores (not including Ruth's accent), Sheriff Nix, and Rachel. Maybe Jacob if you go to extremely rural parts.

Honestly I love the show

But it is Netflix which is hyper liberal

Marty's wife (name escapes me) worked for Obama's campaign etc etc

And the undertone of the show is that these Chicagoans who are from the city and super liberal are way better than the stupid stereotypical rednecks that they disguise themselves around
