What do we spend on defense versus 2005?
2000?

If you don't know offhand, you can't say we can't cut costs.

Your ad libs,of course KS. I 'll be glad to address each point.
1..I am far from the only one that thinks the Gay lobby is acting like the Gestapo. People have lost jobs, had TV shows cancelled, had fines levied and been sent to "classes" because of their efforts.
2..Global Warming is crap..and is either a cult or a get rich quick scheme for politicians..both probably.
3...He won't stop Boko Haram because he is gutless. And like Benghazi he doesn't want to offend radical Muslims.
4...There were Japanese Generals and Admirals who said about invading the West Coast of the US..there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.
5 Obama's meeting with TV Weathermen concerning Global Warming was a joke.Just a photo op.
6...What is Barack Obama's middle name?
7..If you support the ACA you are an idiot and out of touch with the majority of Americans, not necessarily a communist.
I am glad I got to clarify all that. Now move along boy you draw flies.

Bass I said forces, not costs. I also said someone needs to be in charge of making sure those dollars are spent as they should be. Really make sure.

You also lied with the little comments you put on each of your links. Typical. I said the Japanese in WW2 NEVER CONSIDERED invading the US. Not what you said. Just one of several.

That's like saying you're going to cut costs at GM but not cut workers.

You can Bass, if you eliminate unnecessary programs, consolidate some others and get the cost of procurement under control.

When you consolidate programs, you eliminate people who work in those programs. It's not a major argument, but any significant reduction in military spending (enough to actually impact Fedgov's budget) will result in a reduction of "forces."

People yes, forces,no. We need more combat brigades in the Army. We need a bigger Navy and we can't afford to spend the kind of bucks we are on the F35,we can do better.
Some support personnel might very well be eliminated. But we flat out do not have enough trigger pullers, that is for sure. We cannot afford a smaller military at this time.
