No, no you don't get it.

Its not okay for you to use the Chinese numbers for data analysis, but it is okay to use the Chinese Wuhan numbers for fearmongering purposes.

Are you claiming the China and iran numbers are made up for and reason other than political? They seem within the expected norm.

China has made people disappear (put into "Quarantine" where no one can contact them) -- especially journalists but also doctors and nurses who try to shed light on the situation.

I don't know why a government would do that to anyone unless they were trying to suppress something, and I'm not sure why anyone trusts anything China says. Especially when there have been reports that they have had "zero" new cases and have found a cure (lol).

China is a propaganda machine, their internet (like Iran's) is closed, which means they control people and what they can share.

I feel like that's sufficient reason to not trust their figures, especially in China.

The fear mongering accusations ship sailed away. Even trump and his government boys have quit resorting to such nonsense. They think China had up to a million deaths.

No, people were referring to Chinese journalists disappearing in Wuhan as well as suppresion of medical experts within the district.

djs actually has a very salient point that it's strange anti-communist Americans are suddenly now taking up arms to defend the Dear Leaders just so they don't have to admit this is actually a problem.

So nothing beyond political. Which I get, but they were putting out numbers before the rest the world was infected. They either guessed amazingly or the numbers are not that bad. If you dont believe they are useable that's fine, we can remove them from consideration.

So without 81,000 cases and 3,200 deaths. Now you have a pandemic of 135,000 confirmed cases and 5,500 deaths. With 1/4 of it in Italy.

Of what's being reported.

Similarly: China's figures cannot be trusted at all. There were leaks that they had found a cure and then leaks that they had no new cases. Now there are suddenly new cases and new deaths. China also directly lied to the WHO when they said it was contained in January.

We know this not to be the case.

Yesterday 20,000+ new cases around the world and 1,000 new deaths.

The problem is that the ICUs will soon be saturated and they will not be able to house the sick, the sick will either stay at home or remain in society.

A pandemic is not a blizzard that strikes quickly and strong, it's a winter that will slowly grind our entire way of life to a halt.

All citizens living abroad should return home.

All citizens considering international travel should reconsider.

Hope you guys are good and prepared for what's to follow.

On March 6th there were 3,494 deaths. Exactly two weeks later we have reached 10,000 worldwide.

The total cases have more than doubled (from 104,000 to almost 250,000).

Do you believe the chinese numbers are too bigh or too low?

And does it really matter as long as the graph is right about duration.

The Chinese numbers are likely very low, especially since they didn't take it seriously at the very beginning and since, well, it's evidenced by 184 countries now have cases of COVID-19.

If they were even half as prudent as they say they are now they would never have let it get to where we are now. Very likely lowballing it, or attributing other illnesses to cover up how many are dying/infected.

First day to have reached 1,000+ deaths well before the 24 hour mark.

It will likely be the deadliest day of COVID-19 yet.

I don’t have a direct line to the WH, and even if I did, they consider people like us to be unworthy of such info.

Just an update:

1,600 people dead today and well before the 24 hour reset.

We'll see how many more soon.

Yes.

On June 6th the death toll was 3,494.

On June 21st we're at 12,989.

In 15 days we went from a couple hundred dying a day to well over one thousand.

It's likely to get significantly worse before it gets better. I'm most concerned with people who are obese and how they will handle it, as well as people who vape/smoke constantly.

"It's snowing where I am therefore there is no global warming" is about the equivalent of your knowledge of it.

For a virus that was killing a couple hundred a day a few weeks ago to suddenly start killing over 1,500 is a sign of a snowball -- it will only get worse from hereon out.

There are likely millions of cases that are undiagnosed, or misdiagnosed. Carriers who can infect but are asymptomatic. The only reason it will be successful is if people stay at home and practice social distancing.
