Their website reads:

Campus closed on Monday; Students off Monday-Tuesday for Mardi Gras

with:

Campus will be closed on Monday. Employees should plan to return to work on Tuesday, with the exception of Physical Plant and all residence hall employees, including custodial staff, which should report as scheduled on Monday.

The university campus remains in a state of emergency, with damage to the Jazz Station, Mannoni Performing Arts Center, Ogletree Alumni House and Elam Arms (map). But no injuries have been reported.

Thank you to those thinking of us in Hattiesburg

I got hit by one on April 27. Ripped my roof off, rained all inside my house, took out my shop and slung all my tools into the neighbor's houses.

We lived with the wife's parents until early August, that year, while the house was repaired. I wouldn't trade the fear of holding my son while the house falls apart, but ultimately we got a remodeled, better house at Allstate's expense (plus I now have a concrete bunker vault/safe room off the master bedroom ).

Yes, they do; they're terrifying. I've been through several in Arkansas. You deserve a few drinks.

I graduated from USM. There is some damage on campus. Oak Grove HS, where B. Favre coaches as a assistant, took some major damage. There is also alot of damage near Hattiesburg high school. So far thank God there have been no deaths.

I really dont understand the joking either.

I hate to hear that. I was texting alot of friends who still live there. Everyone was ok. I remember the tornado that came through Ponotoc about 15 years ago(may have been longer). I woke up out of my sleep and literally heard it going over my parents house. The house was literally shaking from side to side. Its a scary deal.
