Today, they arrested that guys wife. She was in on the scam as well. Now we are hearing that his brother was running the fake investments. The total now is getting close to a million dollars scammed. I just cant believe that clown scammed people out of a million dollars. Unreal,

I think it was said he was doing it for a few years. The basic scam was promising boats to guys at a big discount if they paid a big down payment up front. Then there was some kind of investment scam as well.
Not really sure how it all worked but it seems guys were promised boats 6months to a year after they paid the down payment.

It’s really the part I can’t wrap my head around. Some of the people gave him 50k with no contract. Just weird.
Then he and his wife ran a scam where they used a charity to scam. That one will get him big time.
I want to believe it was a legit thing at first but went sideways at some point then he just could not get out of it but that does not seem to be the case.

I've done fraud investigation in a previous life, and am always fascinated by the mechanics of theft and concealment.
My personal experience is that it begins out of either desperation or very easy opportunity. Either way, once they have justified it to themselves and no longer feel guilt, it snowballs.

Also, I do not know how to fish, swim, or balance in a boat.
