The great thing about living in the midwest for awhile before coming back down here is I have a different definition of "cold"

Wifey is up there for another month finishing up her USAF stint. She's chomping at the bit to get down here and mad I'm not there to shovel snow out of the driveway

ETA: Are you a senior at Mizzou? How's the studies going?

I disagree with your premise, unsurprisingly. His "state right" he was fighting for may have been slavery, but it would have been abolished eventually. The loss of states rights as the overall outcome was a sincere and horrible detriment to liberty and freedom in the United States. I'm glad you're not picking my cotton tbird, but there's a fair chance you still wouldn't be had the south won, and figs in sanfrancisco or socialists in vermont would have less influence on your daily life.

Says who?
Theres nothing in the Constitution that say states are prohibited from exiting and unlike slavery this issue was not addressed following the civil war.

Andrew Jackson isn't much better than RELee if we're going on solely the reasons they want the original statue removed

Also states rights is a bullshite argument. Southern states were all about federal supremecy when it came to laws like the fugitive slave act, and actively tried to suppress abolitionist movements in the north from using nullification to stop it

On the same news day, we get this garbage
Hillbillies want to put up Confederate memorial next to HBCU
I'm sure their location is a total coincidence, right, Scrooster?

They may not cost any money once they are up, but if they were sold off they would actually MAKE money. As someone who doesn't like government debt I support that.

You're asking for my opinion?
Okay, here it is ...
I think it's wrong what they are doing ... but I have no way to know why they are doing it as I am not a mind reader.
I will, however, tell you why you posted this you sheep humping sister fricking goat porker. You posted this because you wanted my attention ... so here you go, you got it.
You sheep humping taterheads are the epitome of the hypocritical bastard fricktards that are ruining this country with your double-standards and lies ... you mendacity, your deceit.
You recruit against us using the old "they have a confederate flag flying down there at 'their' statehouse," all the while you fight to have the statue of Pitchfork Ben Tillman, the most notorious racist this country has probably ever known, remain standing in front of the statehouse ... because he basically founded Clemson. You've got Tillman Hall, and Tillman Clocktower up there in sheep humping taterland which you proudly display as a thing of architectural beauty to inner city ghetto blacks who know no better when they visit ... but you never bother telling them that, if Pitchfork Ben were still alive he'd be calling them the n-word and chasing after them on horseback with a cat-o-9-tails in his hand.
Is that the attention response you were looking for you inbred cocksucking taterhead? ... I'm sure it is a total coincidence, this thing about you and racism and inserting yourself into this thread and Pitchfork Ben Tillman and Clemson and .... well, am I right silverstrea02?
... happy to oblige you, dumbass.

You surely don't respect Christians either since you don't mind taking the Lord's name in vain.
You are a tool dude, a mere liberal who wishes to change history by destroying a statue. Do you want to burn the history books too?
You're no better than the Fergusion rioters or the Baltimore ones, if you'd educate yourself, you'd discover that no group of people in American history suffered more than the Native Americans.
So tired of black people like you who cry racism over a marble statue and every other opinion you try to take out of context to fit your "racism compass".

I'm a black man who has voted GOP in every election I've been eligible for. I believe in the 2nd Amendment. I'm pro-life. I'm conservative on the vast majority of issues. You don't know who you're talking to

I was stationed in Missouri during the Ferguson fiasco and denounced that nonsense every chance I got. You don't know me. My only connection to "Ferguson," is that's the name of my employer.

Never intimated otherwise. This was never a contest to see which minority has endured the most indignity. I have NA roots on both sides of my family.

Oh come off it. White dude brought up race first itt. Go back and look

I don't get anything out of playing the racism card. Plenty of folks have a problem with what the confederacy stood for besides black people and you know it.
