I think there is too much smoke for nothing to have been going on. I am pretty versed on the topic, but really just can't get around there being some kind of a conspiracy involved.
A couple reasons why I think this:
The third shot from Oswald if it was him is perhaps the most clutch and greatest shot in the history of the world. The first shot should have been the most accurate.
Oswald traveled to Mexico City prior to the assassination. There was a strong KGB presence in MC. This also happened to be where Fidel Castro met Che Guevara when he was exiled from Cuba.
If I had to take a guess, I think there was maybe some Cuban element in this, and the US government knew about it. They kept it quiet that Cuba was involved in any way in order avoid a third world war. Just my 2 cents.

Oswald did fire his gun but didn’t make the head shot.
The gun he used had a cheap scope that was held on the mounts with 2 of the 4 screws which held the rings on the scope to the gun missing. The 2 that were on the scope were not tight. The only way that they could get the gun to shoot any kind of group was to remount it to the rifle.
The head shot was made by someone else.
