Best answer tonight! New guitars don’t come everyday. Hail State!

I'm not 50 yet, but young kids aren't great for sleep either. Just got mine back down. But now I'm wide awake.
Glass of bourbon and watching Blue Mountain State now until I get sleepy again.

Those are nice. I've got a house full of guitars. Mostly junk, but I've got a couple Of U.S. made tellies and an old strat and a couple of tellies that I put together myself out of parts, and a Jap paisley telly that is pretty nice. I mostly just play my acoustic Jap Takamine N-10 these days. It's a really great guitar.

Sweet! The only reason I bought the Gretsch is because one of the styles I play is my own cross between traditional blues and rockabilly , hard to explain but when I picked this up at the music store , and started playing, I knew it was exactly the sound I wanted.
Otherwise, I play rock lol.

Yeah, sounds like pretty much what I do, with some Texas swing thrown in. I have an Epihone wildcat that is very similar to that guitar that you just bought. It even has the same Bigsby tremolo. I bought it new at Guitar center about 4 years ago, it's a beautiful guitar and sounds and plays great, but I bet I haven't played it 3 hours. Too many knobs and switches

I’ve been there brother. No advice. Keep doing what you’re doing until you get there. There is no credit in this world to good, hard working Dads. We rely on SEC sports to keep us getting up in the morning.

Love it. I got my first guitar last Christmas. I’m 50 so this is like teaching an old Engineer new tricks. Really slow going. Any advice to an old beginner would be much appreciated.

Learn 4 chords, D , E, G and C
You will be shocked how many songs you can play with those. Learn those like the back of your hand and slowly add one more every so often.
Btw, you can cheat on playing the C chord, you can play it using just 3 fingers with your thumb kinda resting on the bottom string (E String) to silence it. I taught myself how to play so I'm not too technical on reading music but I do know it works

All I can tell you, is to stay at it. I've been playing for 45 years and still learn something new every day, and my playing is just now getting close to as good as I always wanted to be. It's been fun learning though.

Do you have a sufficient supply of booze and hookers? We can organize an emergency air lift if needed.

I could use some blow. May as well have a booker deliver it. That would be more efficient.

Friday night for us is almost always Pizza night. Last night was nice because UK had it's first exhibition basketball game for the start of the season. Normally we would watch gold rush or something like that while relaxing after a long week.
