Isn't it true that Louisiana stole the Cajun food idea from lowcountry SC?

I'm sorry Rohan but facts are facts
Ye Old sailing from French Canada thing is the clincher. They stopped and rested in lowcountry South Carolina on the way, and that's when the earliest "cajun" cooks whipped up the first mess of lowcountry boil
Geography itself proves this to be historically accurate
My mind works best when I can't sleep. I'm glad this information floated down to me from God this morning
Congrats SCLibertarian

I don't care if they stole it from Tupelo, Mississippi. It is good food. That having been said...
We are the great American melting pot. Anywhere you go you have God only knows how many influences on what you cook. Cuban food in South Florida, as an example, is not Cuban food they get on the islands.
It is why American pizzas kick the crap out of pizzas from Italy darn it.

So you’re saying SC stole it from Canada.

Yes. But thank God they didn't take Poutine with them.
See, now this is part of our wonderful culinary heritage. We take the best and leave aside that which is appalling.

It's possibly the best food ever

Mardi Gras started in Alabama, but you don't see tourists from all over the world traveling to Mobile to catch a buzz.

It's not about who does it first, it's about who does it better.

I could be wrong here, but I read it as the French stole it from the Canadians and then the folks of South Carolina stole it from the French, and then the Louisiana folk stole it from South Carolina.
