Guns suck.

Shells are designed for lethality not the guns. I can put rat shot in a 22 or salt rounds in a shotgun and just scare the piss out of people without killing them or injuring them.

Since there is zero chance of removing these lethal weapons from bad people and aggressive forces like police and military, decent people are going to continue to want them for protective purposes.

A different world, a different path taken by humanity and this question wouldn't be a question.

But it is.

Can't take guns away from decent people as long as bad and oppressive forces have them.

Not to mention skeet guns, Olympic competition guns... designed solely for the purpose of accurate competition.

Where did I specify people?

A gun is designed to fire something from a barrel to cause damage to whatever is being targeted.

Good luck convincing someone of that.

Ok, bows are specifically designed for killing as well, do away with them too?

Where did I say to do away with them?

I don't like weapons, but some are necessary.

The general public doesn't need half the ones they have though.

Jim Bob has no practical use for an AR with an ACOG and a flash suppressor.

Hey RG, I never committed a violent felony nor used a gun in the commission of a felony, so should I be able to possess and transport a bolt action hunting rifle to a deer lease?

You specifically stated they were only designed to kill. You were wrong.

Honestly, I don't have an issue with it. I don't make the laws though.

Touche, but I am not in favor of an entire ban on guns. Simply regulation on who can own and possess them. Can do the same for bow and arrow if you wish.

Was just asking your opinion, I'm not going to get into fairness of the law

That is false. I never said "kill" in regards to the primary function of guns (Rebelgator did)

Knives have many other purposes also.

Ever heard of shooting competitions such as 3 gun competition?

I'm guessing you have never been hog hunting. They are an invasive species and you want to kill as many as you can whenever you can and the best way to accomplish this is with semi-auto rifles with high capacity magazines.

don't bring fists to a car fight.

and

Don't bring a car to an SUV fight

point being.... you can use anything to be a weapon in the hands of an idiot.
