They are the only SEC state not supporting Texas.

Same latitude as Kansas.

Anyone have other evidence?

Kentucky is a midwestern redneck state. With their inclination to basketball, they’d be a good fit in the B1G with Indiana as a natural rival

Far northern Kentucky is basically a suburb of Cincinnati. And then you have Louisville. It straddles the state line with Indiana. I don’t know how to classify it. I’ll say everything from Lexington south counts as southern. As a whole, Kentucky is much more southern than Missouri.

They were neutral in the civil war, and petitioned the Union for assistance when we tried to make them southern.

Now that you mention Maryland, Baltimore seems pretty comparable to Baton Rouge.

Kentucky and our citizenry fully support Texas.

That jackass governor in Frankfort does not.

Don't confuse the two.

Kentucky voters voted for secession. Our governor at the time also favored it. The state representatives in Frankfort did not support secession. They wanted to avoid battle if at all possible. THEY are the ones who pleaded for federal assistance, not the people.

A Confederate government was set up in Bowling Green. The South was unable to hold Kentucky, even after invading Frankfort.

As wisely said above, the South has to start somewhere. And that beginning is right here in Kentucky.
