Just playing devil's advocate but couldn't "groups" in the present use this argument when claiming they are just using the flag as a symbol of southern heritage?
It's kinda the argument Kanye West is using. LINK

Have I conducted a survey of trailer park residents? No, I don't talk to them.
I'm a well educated individual capable of making observations though.

It's a lot battle. People are sheep and generally will stereotype anyone who believes it's their heritage as racist.

Also to answer your questions about the Redskins, I honestly don't care about it. I mean most Native American tribes have come out and voiced their support of it, so I don't really see what the problem is. I grew up with them being the Redskins, and I don't see the name being changed anytime soon.
However I do feel that if a new team was to be named the redskins, there might be some flack. At least the current Redskins have been called that for decades.

So you have no real justification for your statement other than opinion. Ok.

1. You hate the language (accents) of the region
2. You hate the history of the region
3. You find the regions symbols offensive and tasteless
4. You hate people that live in trailer parks
Just curious what drew you towards it ?

Being proud of your Southern heritage and flying the flag are two different things.
Why do people feel the need to bring the flag into it in the manner they do? Well, the reason is that it's usually not much more than thinly veiled racism.

In reality, the sky is 100% blue, just as blue as anything else.
Actually, the sky isn't blue. It only appears blue because of the way the sun's light is scattered through the atmosphere. In different parts of the atmosphere, the sky appears to be a different color. This is illustrated every sunset and every sunrise.

Less than 5% of Southerners owned slaves in 1861.. Stop regurgitating the shite your Social Studies teacher/Football coach taught you.

But how many benefited from it (even if indirectly)? Fought for it?

No. It's not a part of my history. My ancestors never fought for that crap.
I really didn't want to get involved in this shite because typing out words is easily misconstrued. I would rather not say anything than people take what I say the wrong way. However, I just couldn't pass up this little gem.
Unless your "ancestors" came here after after 1865 they where involved in it, one way or the other.

What fueled the South's major exports and economy? I do recall Cotton being King...js

If you're gonna say the Civil War wasn't about slavery, you're the one regurgitating complete bullshite from apologists, revisionists, and obfuscaters

Good point. I don't think any part of the US was not involved in that war.
