Interesting post below re: Georgia without Atlanta is basically Mississippi…

It makes you wonder just how rural some posters are on here…born and raised in Mississippi, but I’ve lived in Nashville, Atlanta, Sautee, Ga., (a small community right outside of Helen), Pensacola, Greely, Co., Hoover, Al., and Miami, Fl….I was living in Miami in 2014 when I had a chance to come home to Mississippi. I came running.
One man’s trash is another’s treasure I suppose? It’s amazing how strong the pull of home is, and the only place I would rather be other than Mississippi is back in Sautee Ga. That place is paradise…so in closing Georgians, in this man’s eyes being compared to Mississippi is one of the greatest compliments that nice Bama fan could have given you….rest easy.

All I know is Atlanta is a shite hole. The rest of the state is fine outside of Savannah and Columbus areas. If it weren’t for the Georgia football team, Athens would be a shite hole too.

no one outside a 60 mile circumference really gives a shite about Atlanta. I am happy for the Braves but as far as I am concerned you could give Atlanta to Alabama.
Such a move would improve the mean IQ of both states.

The blueridge of North Georgia is an awesome place, far beyond the flat and ugliness of Mississppi.

I agree. I try my best never to go into Atlanta. I have to do it occasionally, and I HATE IT.

is one of the dumber talkign points I've ever heard. The entirety of the southeastern united states is practically identical from one state to the next outside of the large cities. Take out [insert massive, major city that hosts global companies, an airport, pro sports franchises, etc] and [state] is basically just [another state]! Can be said for pretty much all southeastern states.

Please define “shite hole.” Is it ‘a place that allows the neighboring cities and counties to survive’?
All of South Georgia is a shite hole because they depend on Atlanta to survive.

People can call Atlanta a shithole all they want, but that city carries this state's fricking water and I'd be from New Orleans if it wasn't for Atlanta, so praise God.

Georgia has a population closer to Alabama than Mississippi when you take Atlanta out of the equation. There's just more people as you get closer to the coasts.
When you get inland, people live closer to rivers and lakes.
More people have lived closer to the coasts throughout history. It was just easier for travel and commerce to different countries.
