Isn’t that what they said at Nuremberg?

Unless you had some killer brisket, the brats would have been my go to.

If I had to do it again, I would pick Alabama over LSU 100% of the time. No regrets at all.

Everyone who said they would show up did - we stayed up drinking in my yard till 4 am. Some of these people are still my good friends. But I couldn’t get them to eat even a single bratwurst.

that's really weird

especially for a true Southerner, MOST would at least try a bite "to be polite" or a "good guest"

I like grilling sausage, or anything

but the sausage on the grill is pretty new for me, never saw it as a kid (will be 50 in a few months) - maybe saw it 1st about 20ish years ago

but lemme teya sumpin - my mamma wudda WHUPPED my arse if she found out I was invited somewhere and refused to sample the offered cuisine...

Yeah but get outside of LA and try and find a good boudin.

If you ask for Hot Sausage in New Orleans, you'll get asked if your want links or patties. If you ask for Hot Sausage in Baton Rouge, they will bring you a red sausage link that looks like no intestine stuffed sausage you've ever seen in your life. If you ask for Sausage in Laplace where I live, they'll ask you if you want Boudin (crawfish or regular), regular smoked, hot smoked, Andouille or hot sausage (patty or link).

Don't like brats. We've got too many other options of smoked sausage or boudin to choose from. Rarely a Saturday goes by that I don't grill 2 or 3 lbs and just leave on the bar with different sauces to pick at throughout the day while I cook whatever else.
