Teachers should keep their personal, religious, and political views to themselves and teach the material that they're paid to teach. Period.
This doesn't happen and you know it. Teachers can't help but let their own personal viewpoint slip out especially when teaching something political. They should know the line however and know when not to cross it.

Please don't equate race to sexual orientation.
Why? People are born either straight or gay just as people are born a certain race. You can't help either thing, and to be bashed for either is wrong.

Wut?
Lots of professors do a good job of concealing their personal views. I have had professors that flat out refused to give their opinions to the class even when asked by everyone. The ones who make it a big deal know exactly what they are doing.

Why not, it's something you have no choice over? And technically, Judaism is a religion, not a race.

It shouldn't happen.
I have no problem with in on the college level, as college students are not impressionable children. However, at any other level it's simply unacceptable.

how is stating his own personal beliefs bashing?
Should he have said anything at all? Absolutely not.
and thus he is being punished.
but to fire him over something like this is dumb

But regardless, homosexuals do not share a common ethnicity, culture, history, and struggle. Homosexuals can be in the closet, minorities can not. Homosexuals were not enslaved for 400 years.

No person worth a shite says things like that in public. This wasn't just in public, it was to students.
