Anybody else had something similar?
It its 20 times what Covid was when I had it. No flu. No Covid. Tuesday will be three weeks since I started coughing. Still have a regular cough today although breathing has gotten better the past three days.

Yeah I had a cold also but it wasn't terrible but the "after cold" cough sucked arse but only when I laid down to go to sleeep; would wake me up 4 or 5 times a night. I'm over it now.

Yeah, by great good fortune as we finally seem to be putting COVID to bed it would appear that we have a fairly virulent cold strain going around the country. Not dangerous per se, just really annoying.
I apologize for whatever it was we did to piss off the microbes.

Covid and the Variants have overshadowed the flu and colds for a while now. They didn’t go away and you’re proof of their virulence. There does seem to be a nasty strain going around the country this season.
Probably not one of the common coronaviruses because all the vaccinations should have curbed their spread fairly well. That leaves the rhinoviruses. They can be mean little bastards.
They usually infect the upper respiratory area so if you have one, use a neti pot to stop it going to your lungs, where its symptoms can become super miserable.

Yes... definitely got some bronchitis last weekend. Worst I've had since 99. That 99 bout put me in the hospital with a spontaneous pneumothorax.

I’m on week 2 of what’s left of a bad chest cold. Finally not coughing up a lung tonight. Still have chest congestion. Thank God for DayQuil, NyQuil and Mucinex Blue and Green. This crud has been going around here.

Yeah it was rough.
And I'm not a smoker.
I am fit. I lift regularly (haven't the past three weeks though).
I had Covid and I had one shot of Pfizer. Didn't get the 2nd, because I'm a moderate.
The post about the "after-cold" sounds like me. I had a sinus head-ache which seemed like it turned into pneumonia. I coughed up yellow shite for two straight weeks after. Feel much better today, but Tuesday makes three weeks since I started having symptoms. MOtherfricker of a cold, whatever it is.

I haven’t run or worked out since Thanksgiving morning. I ran into a 25mph head wind in 40F weather and that’s when all this started. Dumb on my part. I think what’s leftover may be bacterial now, so I may head to the urgent care today for a course of antibiotics to knock it out, though I hate that. I try to avoid unnecessary antibiotic use if at all possible.

After a year and a half (give or take) of isolation and mask wearing, our immune systems aren’t ready for what’s out there.

I have a friend who had the cough, head cold, fever, and now a lingering headache for days now and has not lessened. Just weird.

Yeah I’m getting over a case of the crud finally. Felt puny for a week and half.

Your immune system has likely been weakened over the past 2 years, and so have most peoples.
I'm not trying to start a debate here, but it's actually healthy and good for society to pass germs/virus around, and doing things that lessen the contact is bad.

I agree with this take. All the masking (justified or not) has kept us from encountering other mild stuff and that cold kicked my arse like none ever has before.
