I second the suggestions for outdoors, exercise, and friends.

KS, depends on what's wrong. I've been in a rut for the past few years and am only now starting to feel better because I finally told my doctor and got on an antidepressant. Sometimes low moods/ruts are just your brain needing some kind of chemical help/reset but other times other things cause them.
If you've been low for a while, swallow your fear/pride/whatever is holding you back and talk to a doctor. Your primary care physician can hook you up. I wish I hadn't waited so long but I didn't think what was going on was 'bad' enough to ask for help. Turns out though, it was easy. The hard part was just telling someone I felt low.
If there's more to it then you have to figure out a way to address those things more directly.

some sun, vitamin D, new workout plan. When the issue is a girl you buckle down in the gym and get swole up.

What are you taking? I've tried Zoloft in the past. I didn't like it.

Why, you have a #1 seed in the Women's tourney. You will likely finish 2nd.

Old fashioned Prozac. I started on the low dose and started to feel a little more positive but still lacked any energy or drive so I asked the doc if it could be increased and it could so now I'm on the higher dose and starting to feel more like myself again.

Set a difficult goal in anything that interests you.
Work to achieve it.
ETA:the sense of accomplishment, just like a drug, sex, etc, manifests itselfs in actual neurochemicals in your gourd. But you can do it forever with increasingly difficult/varied goals. And you're actually improving yourself. And you will naturally discover what you love. It's the only sustainable surefire way to happiness.
You're welcome
