I cook about 0 meals per year. I prepare about 3 sandwiches per week. the other 1,000 meals a year I eat out.
You live in Miami and can't find non-chain places to eat?

Perhaps. But they seriously suck.

If you actually live in Charleston, you have options that Jefferson/Tuscaloosa County, Alabama really doesn't have. There's at least another one of 90% of the restaurants here in Atlanta, Nashville, or Memphis; or even in different cities in Alabama. Even Dreamland is a chain now

This isn't true. There are good local restaurants all over Atlanta and every other city I've ever been in.

Sure. And they are often less convenient to go to, take longer, and are more expensive. Considering I eat out almost every meal I make it to plenty but I eat at chain resturants daily. Chicken Kitchen, Baja Fresh, Hooters, Polo Tropical, subway, and papa johns are hit up multiple times on a weekly basis along with others. I like all of them fine.

When I went to the SECCG, I ate at this place called Max Lager's Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery. I thought it was great. I had fried chicken- it's traditional, but has an asian-chili pepper sauce on it. You should try it if you haven't.
ETA: Don't get the pizza, though. It's bland. Stay on the "platters" section of the menu

Dreamland is a chain
Raising Canes is a chain
Moe's is a chain
Five Guys is a chain
There are many more
If you don't like Cracker Barrel then you suck. And there's one literally every 15 miles on the interstate in the south

Not even close to being one of the best restaurants in Atlanta.

I hate vegetables and badly prepared food. They don't make that shite from scratch for the most part.
And I do enjoy life. And good food.

I always get breakfast. That's definitely from scratch. Sunday Fried Chicken is what the wifey swears by.

Yeah, their breakfast is from scratch. Most of their dinner is not. I can eat their breakfast. I just prefer to try small local businesses.
Plus there's not a Cracker Barrel even close to me.

So do you happen to like The Flying Biscuit or Fatt Matt's? Those are some nice local places I dig in Atlanta

No, but my eating habits are quite similar... when it comes to vegetables anyway.
I like onions, peppers, lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, and... well, that's about it.

Some chains are good, no doubt a/b it.
You should just strive to support local vendors, is all (assuming they're serving up comparable fare). Better for the community, generally better for the environment, often times better for the employees.
It can be difficult if you live in rural areas.

Pretty good stuff. You should try Fox Bros. BBQ sometime. Best BBQ in Atlanta.
