Athens is a shithole. Stray dog packs and trash in every corner. Actually, the entire mainland blows when you get down to it.

Islands are nice, though.

Are you fricking serious?

I loved mainland Greece. I can agree on Athens, but the Peleponnese was absolutely beautiful and peaceful.

Should have qualified my statement. The scenery is gorgeous. Could literally see Mount Olympus from the front porch of our house. Beautiful views to be had.

It was personal experiences that soured me on the mainland. Lack of consistent sanitation. Rampant poverty in our communities. My family sticking out like sore thumbs because of our ethnicity (only time many of the locals saw black females walking around was when they were African hookers, so I was constantly on edge worried about my sisters and my Mom).

I feel better for having had the experience of living there, but I don't think I'd do it again (definitely not as long as we stayed there the first time).

How much time constitutes living somewhere? 3 months, 6 months, a year?
